Review of MySpace as a Marketing Resource September 25, 2006
Posted by CS in : Social Networking , trackback Tag:backlinks, blogging, internet marketing, marketing campaign, myspace, social networkingSome years ago a good marketing campaign consisted of classified ads, FFA-pages and banner exchanges. Since that time things have changed dramatically, and this method of advertising is pretty much useless today.
Serious marketers are always looking for new sources of traffic. Blogging has been popular for a while now, and the Net is loaded with books teaching you how to blog for money and traffic.
There is one field of advertising where you don’t get bombarded with Manuals and “How to” books, and that is MySpace
Thousands of people has discovered Myspace as a new and exciting advertising media. It is free to sign up as a member, and you get your very own webpage you can tune anyway you like.
So, what exactly is MySpace?
To put it in short; MySpace and other social networking websites are communities with people looking for other people with the same interest.
Social Networking has been popular for quite some time now, and people are networking all across the Internet.
MySpace is the largest of them all; In September 2006 there are currently 106,035,400 members!
Many consider MySpace to be a playground for kids, but this is far from the truth.
Yahoo said earlier this summer that the traffic they got from MySpace was poor, most of the traffic was from kids without any money or credit card.
This did not prevent Google from putting $900 Billions into MySpace only weeks later. I guess Yahoo saw that they was going to lose the battle of getting all the traffic from MySpace.
So, how can you use MySpace to improve your traffic and earnings?
The first step is of course to sign up as a member. This is totally free at the moment. It could be just a matter of time before Google decide to get their investment back. We all know Google, right?
After signing up you get your own unique URL, and you can start to add your profile. Take a look at my link, just to get some ideas to begin with. MySpace
You will soon enough discover that there is an industry out there, with MySpace related products, like adder programs and programs to change the look of your page.
The key to success with MySpace is to add as many friends as possible. There are several ways you can do this.
Use the “Search” feature to find people with the same interests you have. You can use search terms like MLM, Network Marketing, Affiliate Programs or everything else you can think of.
Your search results will consist with a group of targeted people, and you can start adding them. This is very time consuming, but it is worth it!
Another great way to search for like-minded people is in the Forums. There are many of them to choose from, so you should be able to find one that cover your interest. The procedure here is the same, start adding friends like a maniac!
You can also join some of the Groups; the most popular of them has over 30.000 members.
When you are adding new people, you will notice that some of them have over 10.000 friends, a few got 20.000, and I have even seen one guy with over 41.000 friends in his network.
And here is where it is getting really interesting. You can post bulletins to all your friends. Let’s say that you have 5000 friends in your network. When you send a bulletin with your offer and website link, this bulletin will end up on the page of all your 5000 friends.
This means 5000 backlinks to your webpage, and it’s pure Search Engine Food!!
As you can see, doing this correctly will increase your search engine rankings!
In the end I want to tell you my experience with MySpace.
As I said earlier, using MySpace is time consuming. But, it did not take many days before I saw results.
I started to heavily promote a free terrific report.
This is a lead capture page, (the product is damn good too) and it only took a day or two before my subscriber rate started to increase dramatically. Not only that; since I have links to some of my other websites, my PPC earnings has increased too. And it is still increasing since I’m adding new friends everyday.
This is the results with only 600 friends, and I just can’t wait till I get 10.000
I hope you learned something new from this article. You owe it to yourself to try this method.
It is free; your only investment is a few hours of your time!
Good luck!
